King Entertainer of the Year Thursday night in Memphis.

Salgado also received the Blues Foundation’s Soul Blues Male Artist of the Year honor. It’s the second time he has received the award, earning the same honor in 2010.

Salgado’s 2012 CD “Soul Shot” also was named the top Soul Blues album.

The 34th Annual Blues Music Awards were presented at the Cook Convention Center in Memphis, and broadcast live on XM’s B.B. King’s Bluesville show.

Salgado has been nominated nearly a dozen times for Blues Music Awards, once in 2002 for Soul Blues Album of the Year and four nominations in 2009 including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Soul Blues Album of the Year and Soul Blues Male Artist of the Year.
