RN arrested for sex crimes in ER
A registered male nurse has been arrested on sex charges for assaulting multiple women a the Legacy Emanuel Medical Center emergency room where he worked until earlier this year.
Jeffrey Neyle McAllister, 38, was arrested on Wednesday, July 10, on two counts of Rape in the First Degree, three counts of Sex Abuse in the First Degree, Sex Abuse in the Second Degree, Sex Abuse in the Third Degree, and four counts of Sodomy in the First Degree.
The charges stem from his contact with multiple vulnerable adult women seeking medical treatment at the emergency room where he was employed as a Registered Nurse.
The Portland Police Bureau investigation began when a patient came forward in April with allegations that McAllister had inappropriate sexual contact in the Emanuel Hospital ER. The subsequent investigation and assistance from Investigator Jessica Van Horn of the Oregon State Board of Nursing made detectives aware of additional victims.
McAllister worked at Legacy as an ER Technician from 2005 to 2008 and as an RN in the emergency room from 2008 to 2013. He was no longer employed by Legacy as of April .
McAllister also has work history as a nurse with St. Vincent Hospital in Portland and the Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles, Oregon. McAllister has been placed on administrative leave by those employers.
McAllister has law enforcement experience in Oregon as a Legacy Health System Security Officer (2004-2005), a Beaverton Police Officer (2002- 2004), a Seaside Police Officer (1996-2002), and a Reserve Officer for the Independence Police Department (1997).
Detectives are concerned there may be additional victims and believe others may have information regarding McAllister.
