Witnesses report as many as 12 shots fired

Gresham police are investigating a Sunday morning shooting at a local bar.

At about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, police responded to multiple reports of gunshots fired at Andrew's Watering Hole Sports Bar & Grill, 19642 S.E. Stark St., said Detective John Rasmussen, Gresham Police spokesman.

Police officers, including those with the East Metro Gang Enforcement Team, arrived within a minute to discover that everyone involved had fled the scene. Witnesses reported that the shooting began as an argument between two men inside the bar. The men and their respective groups left the bar and the fight spilled outside onto the street, where shots rang out. Witnesses reported hearing anywhere from five to 12 gunshots, Rasmussen said.

The case is under investigation, but police don't think anyone was shot.

Suspects are described only as Hispanic males in their 20s. Investigators don't know whether the shooting was gang related.

Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call the Gresham Police tip line 503-618-2719 or 1-888-989-3505.
