Woman arrested for wedding ring theft
Police have arrested a woman for stealing a wedding ring off the finger of a resident of a Northeast Portland assisted-living facility.
Theresa Reba White, 46, was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Robbery in the Third Degree, Theft in the First Degree, and Theft in the Second Degree.
The resident did not want to be identified. Her ring has been recovered.
According to police, officers were originally called to the acility in July 2013 on a report that an unknown woman had entered the facility's dining hall, encountered a 92-year-old resident, and pulled a wedding ring off the victim's finger against her will.
The ring was located in a nearby pawn shop, and transaction records helped police identify White as the suspect. She was arrested on Aug. 29.
