Police are investigating two weekend stabbings.
East Precinct officers responded to the first stabbing at 10:16 p.m. on Saturday. When they arrived at the Plaid Pantry at Southeast 42nd and Woodstock, the officers contacted Matthew Davis, 40, who had been stabbed in the abdomen. Davis told them he had been stabbed by his girlfriend at a residence in the 5900 block Southeast 42nd in front of her three children.
Davis was transported to an area hospital, where he underwent surgery. Police went to the residence but were not able to immediately locate the suspect. The three children were taken into protective custody.
Then at 2:45 a.m. Sunday, East Precinct officers responded to a call of a stabbing in the 1500 block of Southeast 127th. When they arrived, they found Marcus Carter, 27, with a stab wound in his side.
The officers were told that Carter was stabbed by a female aquaintance during an argument at a residence. Carter was transported to an area hospital. The suspect was not immediately located.
