Cold-hearted thieves steal church heating and cooling systems
Police seek public help to solve crime
Thieves stole $63,000 worth of heating and cooling equipment from a Northeast Portland church overnight.
According to police, thieves took seven large commercial HVAC systems from the Rivercrest Community Church, located at 3201 N.E 148th Ave. Each unit valued at $9,000.
The units were used to heat and cool the church and were located on the grounds around the church building. Church members discovered the theft Tuesday morning and reported it to police.
At this point, there is no suspect information or surveillance video. Police are asking for the public's help to help catch the thieves and recover the property.
