Police are investigating an early Saturday morning shooting in the Cully neighborhood that may have left a man wounded.
According to police, at 5:08 a.m. on Sept. 14, North Precinct officers responded to the 6100 block of Northeast Simpson Street on the report of multiple gunshots heard in the area.
When the officers arrived in the area, they did not locate any victims, crime scene or evidence of a shooting.
Then, at 6:08 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center on the report of a walk-in gunshot victim.
When they arrived, the officers contacted the victim, a 24-year-old male, who was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was not cooperative with investigators.
Gang Enforcement Team investigators responded to the hospital and also returned to the area of Northeast 61st Avenue and Simpson Street and located a crime scene.
Investigators do not know if the shots fired call and the walk-in shooting victim are related.
