One person was treated for smoke inhalation after a fire damaged a Southeast Portland apartment complex Tuesday night.

Portland Fire and Rescue crews were called at about 9:42 p.m. Oct. 29 to the eight-unit complex at Southeast Powell Boulevard and 40th Avenue, where they found a fire burning in one unit. Firefighters extinguished the fire, which was confined to the single unit.

The apartment’s occupant was taken to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. The person’s name and medical condition was not released.

Investigators are trying to determine the fire’s cause and the amount of damage to the building.
