Bowling alley bouncer killed in Sunday morning shooting
UPDATE • Three overnight shootings under investigation
Portland police are investigating three shootings, including one killing.
Police identified the victim as Robert Greene, 30, a bouncer at the Grand Central Bowl Restaurant and Lounge, in the 800 block of Southwest Morrison Street. He died of a single gunshot wound early Sunday.
According to police, officers responded to the report of a shooting at Eighth Avenue and Morrison Street at 1:28 a.m. and found a gunshot victim near the the front door. Medical personnel were called and determined that that the man was deceased.
All traffic on Southeast Morrison Street from Seventh to 10th avenues was blocked for hours. No suspect information was immediately available.
Gang Enforcement Team officers are investigating another shooting that occurred Friday night in the 2200 block of Northeast Morgan Street. Officers arrived and located a 16-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Medical personnel took him to an area hospital.
Investigators learned that the shooting suspect fired from a vehicle as it drove by the victim. The only suspect description is a black man, with two additional black men in the car.
A third shooting incident occurred around 9:43 p.m. Friday at North Haight Avenue and Mason Street. Officers responded to reports of one or more shots fired but found no victims or suspects.
Gang investigators are exploring the possibility that Friday's incidents are connected.
