Oregon asks insurance companies to extend canceled policies
Oregon Insurance Commissioner Laura Cali said Friday she would allow Oregon insurance companies to extend policies canceled by the federal Affordable Care Act until the end of next year.
It is unclear how many companies will do so.
The announcement came afrer President Obama requested the extensions because of problems with the federal health exchange website intended to allow consumers alternative policies. Oregon's website, which is separate from the federal one, is also having similar problems.
