Portland detectives are investigating a late-night shooting Monday that wounded a 29-year-old man in a southeast neighborhood.

Officers were called at about 11:23 p.m. to Southeast Ninth Avenue and Ankeny Street where they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of what police said were non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses said they heard a gunshot and the sound of a vehicle speeding away from the area.

The man's name and medical condition have not been released.
