Candidate to challenge Commissioner Shiprack for county post
With days to go before the March 6 candidate filing deadline, the first non-incumbent has filed to run for one of the three seats up for election on May 15 for the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners.
Patricia Burkett filed to run for District 3 against incumbent Judy Shiprack. The district covers much of Southeast Portland and some parts of East and Northeast Portland.
Burkett has worked as a clerk in the U.S. Army and the U.S. attorney's office in Portland, and lists her occupational background as an intuitive perceptionist.
She lives in Northeast Portland.
Deborah Kafoury is running unopposed for re-election in District 1. Diane McKeel is running unopposed for re-election in District 4.
