by: MULTNOMAH COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE - Alex Irvin.The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office confirms that missing hiker Alex Irvin has been located at Nesika Lodge off of the Franklin Ridge Trail. A person staying at the lodge spotted the teenager on the trail and made contact with him at approximately 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

The 16-year-old from Portland was then brought into the lodge, given warm liquids to warm up and some food. The person who found him then called 911 to report the teenager was at the lodge.

An MCSO Search and Rescue Team responded to the lodge and confirmed it was Irvin. He is described as being in good condition. The Nesika Lodge is located approximately 7 to 8 miles up and over the Franklin Ridge trail and the elevation rises approximately 2500 feet to the top of the ridge from the Horsetail Falls Trailhead.

Irvin was separated from his hiking party and reported missing Saturday. Temperatures overnight dropped into the 20's as Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue crews worked their way repeatedly up and down the trails in the area in hopes of finding him.

An Oregon Air National Guard helicopter searched the area for a couple of hours overnight with a FLIR infrared camera system but was unable to confirm any solid leads and had to clear the area due to low fuel around 3:30 a.m. It is helicopter is expected to return later Sunday if needed to assist in further search efforts.

Additional search and rescue resources were being called in to assist, including canine tracking teams
