The arrest of a 32-year-old man in Old Town on Wednesday resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of street-level drugs.

by: PORTLAND POLICE BUREAU - Omar Ayala-Luevano was arrested on Wednesday on several drug charges.On Jan. 15, at approximately 4 p.m., Central Precinct officers contacted and arrested Omar Ayala-Luevano near Northwest Broadway and Burnside Street. Central Precinct officers were familiar with Ayala-Luevano as he was previously arrested on Oct. 18, 2013 at Southwest 12th Avenue and Columbia Street on several drug-related charges.

After his arrest on Wednesday, officers recoverd nearly four ounces of heroin and cocaine along with $720 cash. Investigators believe that this heroin was intended for distribution in Portland and could have had devastating effects on drug addicts.

Ayala-Luevano was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Delivery and Possession of Heroin and Delivery and Possession of Cocaine. by: PORTLAND POLICE BUREAU - Four ounces of heroin and cocaine were seized in addition to $720 in cash and the other items shown here.
