Portland police are investigating a report concerning two men who shoved their way into the residence of a 71-year-old man on Monday morning, assaulted him, robbed his home, and then fled.

North Precinct officers received a call shortly before 9:30 a.m. that there had been a robbery in the 4000 block of Northeast 125th Place. When they arrived, the 71-year-old resident of the home reported that someone knocked at his front door and when he answered it, two men pushed their way into his home, assaulted him and stole items from the home. The suspects then ran out the door and disappeared into the neighborhood

Several police officers, including a K-9 Unit, searched the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspects descriptions.

The suspects are described as two white males in their 20s, one wearing a blue shirt, the other was short, heavy and wearing glasses.

The victim received minor injuries and was treated by medical personnel at the scene.

Investigators are working with the victim to determine what property was stolen and to develop any possible motives for the robbery.
