Women hurt in downtown car accident
Pedestrians struck after taxicab collides with BMW
Two women were hospitalized when they were struck by a taxicab involved in an accident in downtown Portland Wednesday evening.
Witnesses say one woman were pinned against a building by the taxicab and seriously injured.
The driver of the taxicab was also transported to an area hospital.
Their names and conditions were not immediately available.
According to police, at 7:56 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to a call of a two car crash with pedestrians struck at Southwest 10th Avenue at Morrison. When officers arrived, they found two cars involved. One was a taxi cab and the other was a BMW. The preliminary investigation indicates the taxi was westbound on Morrison. After the crash, the taxi struck two adult women on the northwest corner of Southwest 10th and Morrison.
The Traffic Division Major Crash Team and the Forensic Evidence Division responded to scene and they are conducting the investigation.
