Police investigate two sexual assaults


Police are investigating two recent reported stranger-to-stranger sexual assaults.

The first one allegedly took place at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, at the east end of the Steel Bridge. Officers contacted the victim, an adult female, who said she had been sexually assaulted by a stranger. The victim said she was able to fight off the suspect, who was described as an African American male in his 30's.

The second one allegedly took place late in the evening of Wednesday, March 12, or early in the morning of Thursday, March 13. Officers contacted the victim, an 18-year-old female, who reported that she had been sexually assaulted in the area of North Knott Street and Mississippi Avenue by two suspects. They are described as a male black approximately 6' tall and possibly with facial tattoos and a male white, also approximately 6' tall.
