Police responded to a suspected gang-related shooting shooting early Sunday in Southerast Portland that left one man wounded.

The victim is identified as Kyron Antonio Trevino, 34. He is hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

According to police, at 2:07 a.m. on March 16, East Precinct officers responded to the report of a gunshots heard at Southeast 92nd Avenue and Foster Road.

When officer arrived in the area, they found Trevino suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Medical personnel responded and transported him to a Portland hospital for treatment.

The preliminary investigation revealed that there was some sort of disturbance inside the New Copper Penny Nightclub, located at 5932 Southeast 92nd Avenue, and a crowd of people involved in the disturbance came outside the club. Someone standing outside the club fired several rounds toward the crowd, striking the victim.

Several officers, including a Police K-9 Unit, searched the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description.

He is described as an African American male with a skinny build wearing dark-colored pants and a light-colored top.

Based on information obtained at the scene, officers requested the Gang Enforcement Team to respond and continue the investigation.

One male was arrested due to outstanding warrants, not in connection with the shooting. Police have identified him as Alander Lavine Jacob, 26.
