Grand jury to review officer-involved shooting
Washington County tactical unit members identified
A Multnomah County grand jury will review the March 13 shooting of a North Portland man by one or more members of a Washington County tactical team assisting Portland police serve a search warrant.
Alberto Flores-Haro is still hospitalized with gunshot wounds he received after stepping outside his home with a gun during the operation. Portland police identified the tactical team members involved in the operation as: Officer Steven Slade, an 11-year-veteran of the Hillsboro Police Department; Deputy John Egg, a 14-year-veteran of the Washington County Sheriff's Office; and, Deputy Brian McLeod, a 12-year-veteran of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
The police and tactical unit were in the area of North Fiske and Woolsey looking for an adult and a teenager believed to be involved in an earlier gang-related shooting. They were found and arrested.
Portland police detectives are continuing to investigate the incident. When they are done, it will be presented to the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office for review and submitted to a grand jury in accordance with policies.
