A man armed with a gun robbed a Cricket Wireless store in Northeast Portland on Saturday afternoon.

The suspect got away. He is described as a white male in his 50s, 5'11" to 6'0" tall, wearing blue sweat shorts and a pink shirt with red sleeves.

According to police, at 1:08 p.m. on April 5, East Precinct officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Cricket Wireless store, located at 8226 Northeast Fremont Street.

Officers arrived and contacted the employee, who told police that he locked the door to take the trash out and when he returned to the front door, the suspect was waiting to go inside.

Once inside, the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from the employee. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect left the store and was last seen walking eastbound on foot.

Several officers checked the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description.
