Andrusko already missed at Happy Valley City Hall
City Councilor Tom Andrusko resigned from his position on Happy Valley City Council last week.
Self-employed in the building, development and remodeling industry, Andrusko was first elected in 2006 in an uncontested race. A 1986 graduate of Clackamas High School, he was re-elected to City Council in 2010 with more votes than two other candidates.
In an April 8 email to City Manager Jason Tuck, Andrusko, 46, wrote he would resign his position as city councilor due to personal reasons.
It has been my great pleasure to serve my city these past years, Andrusko wrote.
Andruskos announcement, effective immediately, took some by surprise since he had attended previous City Council meetings without commenting on managing his increasing workload, which he cited as a contributing reason for resigning. City Recorder Marylee Walden hopes Andrusko will frequently continue to visit City Hall, where he and his dog have been popular among staffers.
He is a great guy, and were missing him already, Walden said.
Remaining members of the Happy Valley City Council will meet in a work session May 6 to discuss a plan for recruiting and appointing candidates to be Andruskos replacement.
