UPDATE • 29-year-old victim was in a blue Chevy Cobalt on side of the highway

Portland police are looking for anyone who might have seen a small blue four-door car involved in a Wednesday night incident on Interstate 205 that sent a 29-year-old man to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

East Precinct officers responded at about 10:13 p.m. to a shooting in the I-205 southbound lanes near Division Street, where they found Brian Tierney wounded in a vehicle. Tierney was in critical condition at an area hospital, police said.

An investigation into the shooting blocked I-205's southbound lanes for several hours, diverting traffic onto the Division/Powell exit.

Officers said the victim was in a blue 2007 four-door Chevrolet Cobalt that was found parked on the side of the southbound lanes at about 10 p.m.

Police do not believe the shooting was the work of a sniper. They are asking anyone with information on suspicious activity in the area at the time of the shooting to call Det.
