Police seek woman missing in homicide probe

by: PORTLAND POLICE BUREAU - Renee SandidgePolice are asking for the public's help in determining the whereabouts or recent activities of 59-year-old Renee Sandidge, who has been reported as a missing person under suspicious circumstances.

Sandidge was last seen at her Portland residence, in the 3900 block of Northeast 66th Avenue, at about 6 a.m. on Saturday, June 7. Her disappearance was determined to be suspicious, based on a number of factors discovered by homicide detectives, who had responded to the scene, where there has been SERT activity overnight.

Sandidge is white, 5-foot-2, weighing about 100 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes. She was last seen on foot. Police don't know if she drove away in a vehicle.

Saturday's incident started at about 11 a.m. when homicide detectives were called to a house in the neighborhood after officers did a welfare check and discovered suspicious circumstances. The SERT unit was called to the house and fired tear gas into it Saturday evening. Some residents in the 3900 block of Northeast 66th Avenue were forced to leave their homes during the incident.

Anyone with information about Sandidge's whereabouts is asked to immediately call 9-1-1. Anyone with additional non-emergency information about this case, or who has information about Sandidge's activities since Saturday morning, is asked to contact either Det. Mark Slater, at 503-823-9319 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , or Det. Erik Kammerer, at 503-823-0762, or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
