Man wounded in suspected gang-related shooting

A 23-year-old man was wounded in a suspected gang-related shooting in Northeast Portland Saturday evening.

The name of the victim was not immediately released. His wound does not appear life-threatening.

No suspect information was immediately available.

According to police, at 9:58 p.m. on June 13, North Precinct and Gang Enforcement Team officers responded to multiple reports of gunshots heard in the area of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Morgan Street.

Officers arrived in the area and located evidence of gunfire in the car wash parking lot between Morgan and Buffalo Streets.

No gunshot victims were located at the scene, but a short time after the initial call, a 23-year-old male arrived at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center suffering from a gunshot wound to one of his arms.

Officers determined that the victim was at the car wash at the time of the shooting.

The Portland Police Bureau Gang Enforcement Team and Gun Task Force are continuing to actively investigate gang and gun crimes in the City of Portland.
