Police seize psychedelic mushrooms, MDMA, more than $1,600 in cash

by: SUBMITTED PHOTO: WEST LINN POLICE - Police seized more than 1.5 pounds of psychedelic mushrooms, 67 capsules of MDMA and more than $1,600 in suspected drug money Tuesday morning.A routine traffic stop in the Sunset neighborhood early Tuesday morning led to the seizure of drugs and more than $1,600 in cash, according to West Linn police.


After noticing a broken tail light and expired registration on a Volvo near Pine Street and Sunset Avenue, police stopped the vehicle just past midnight Tuesday and found the occupants to be in possession of more than 1.5 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, 67 capsules of MDMA (ecstasy) and other suspected illicit drugs. The $1,600 in cash is suspected to be from drug trafficking, police said.

The vehicle’s occupants, Gordon Filemu Cady, 28, of Portland, and Marin Kathryn Vesley, 18, of Laguna Niguel, Calif., were arrested on suspicion of possession and intent to distribute MDMA and psychedelic mushrooms. Both Cady and Vesley were lodged at Clackamas County Jail, with bail set at $125,000.
