Family hosts fundraiser for Huntington's research

In May, the Tribune introduced readers to Luke Hilgers. Just short of his 18th birthday, Hilgers was wrestling with whether to take a genetic test for Huntington’s Disease while helping care for his mother, who was diagnosed with the disease six years ago.

In September, Hilgers and his family are hosting a “Toast For A Cure” event to raise funds to support Huntington’s research and support groups. The event is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7 at Winter’s Hill Vineyard in Dayton.

Tickets will cost $25 for adults, $10 for children, and the event includes a barbeque, wine tasting, gospel music and an auction.

Tickets can be arranged through Tim and Amy Hilgers, 503-931-8677, or by email, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
