Annual contest now open

TRIBUNE FILE PHOTO - Pamplin Media Group 2015 Amazing KidsThe Portland Tribune and its partner newspapers are seeking submissions to our 2016 Amazing Kids contest. The deadline for submission is Feb. 29.

This annual April special section will be distributed in Pamplin Media Group newspapers throughout the region. The Amazing Kids also will be honored at a gala event hosted by Pamplin Media Group.

Last year’s section featured 25 local young people. They were some of the area’s brightest stars, including Portland’s Roosevelt High School senior Ezequiel Antonio-Tomas, a trilingual valedictorian.

If you know of an exceptional young person, submit a brief description of why your nominee is so amazing, along with contact information for both the nominator and the nominee.

Nominees should be under 18, and there is no school affiliation requirement (home school, charter school, etc., is OK). However, only one nominee will be chosen each year from each geographic area covered by a Pamplin Media Group newspaper.
