Sherwood Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in a parking lot late last week.

Sherwood Police were called to the parking lot of Dollar Tree, 16220 S.W. Langer Drive, next to Safari Sams at about 10:47 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 28, to investigate a reported stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found the victim, Thomas Perritt, 28, of Dundee, in the parking lot. He was bleeding from a single stab wound in his left arm, police said.

Capt. Mark Daniel, a spokesman with the Sherwood Police Department, said that Perritt had nearly been hit by a car while crossing the parking lot. The car's driver, a teenaged boy, then reportedly got out the vehicle and stabbed him.

Daniel said that the two did not know one another. A motive in the attack has not been released.

Perritt was transported to a local hospital, and was listed in serious condition.

Perritt’s wound was so significant, Daniel said, that the Washington County Major Crimes Team was called out to lead the investigation with the Sherwood Police Department.

Police have not made any arrests in the case, but did interview the juvenile suspect, Daniel said. The boy’s name and age were not released.

The case has been referred to the Washington County District Attorney’s Office for review, police said.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who might have additional information is asked to call Sherwood Police at 503-629-0111.

The stabbing is the second in the Sherwood area over the last week. On Monday, Feb. 1, a 31-year-old Sherwood man was stabbed outside Kohl's department store, 16685 S.W. 12th St.
