One dead, three injured in Saturday-morning crash


UPDATE: Police looking for driver who fled from the scene

PORTLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT - David Augustine SaucedoPolice are looking for a driver who fled from the scene of a fatal two-car crash at the intersection of Northeast 157th and Halsey streets early Saturday morning.

Investigators have identified the driver David Augustine Saucedo, 36. He left his driver's license in the car and is now wanted for felony hit and run charges.

Officers also located a passenger that ran from the crash scene. This passenger was transported to a Portland hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

In addition to the fatality, three people were injured in the crash.

Portland and Gresham firefighters were called to the scene of the accident at 5:31 a.m. on Feb. 13. The first vehicle contained three occupants with one trapped. The second contained one occupant.

PORTLAND FIRE AND RESCUE - This Saturday-morning accident resulted in one death and four injured.Firefighters were able to free the trapped male, however he was dead. The two other occupants of the vehicle ( one adult male and one adult female) were transported to local trauma centers. The adult male occupant of the other vehicle was transported to a local hospital with less serious injuries.

Investigators have learned that a passenger vehicle being driven by Saucedo traveling northbound on 157th Avenue failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into the driver of a pick-up truck who was traveling eastbound on Halsey Street.

The pick-up truck driver was alone in the vehicle, while Saucedo was accompanied by four other people in his car, one of whom died at the scene.
