Three weekend robberies under investigation

Police are investigating three weekend robberies.

The first investigation started at 2:40 a.m. on Feb. 13 when North Precinct officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Escape Bar & Grill, located at 9004 Northeast Sandy Boulevard.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted employees, who said the suspect, armed with a handgun, entered the bar and demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect left the bar without incident and was not seen again.

Several officers searched the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description. He is described as an African American male in his 20s or 30s, with slight facial hair, wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans.

The second investigation began at 10:17 a.m. on Feb. 13 when East Precinct officers responded to the report of a bank robbery at the Key Bank branch located at 4600 Southeast Woodstock Boulevard.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted employees, who said the suspect entered the bank, implied that he had a weapon, and demanded money.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect left the bank without incident and was last seen walking southbound on Southeast 46th Avenue.

Officers searched the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description.

The suspect is described as an unknown age male, possibly white or Hispanic, 6' tall, wearing a dark puffy coat, hooded sweatshirt, mask or some other kind of face covering, and gloves. No weapons were actually seen during this robbery.

The third investigation began at 3:25 a.m. on Feb. 14 when North Precinct officers responded to a Plaid Pantry store located at 14090 Northeast Sandy Boulevard on the report of an armed robbery.

Officers arrived in the area and contacted the employee, who said the suspect entered the store, armed with a handgun, and demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect left the store without incident and possibly ran southbound on Northeast 141st Drive.

Several officers, including a Police Canine Unit, searched the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description.

The suspect is described as a white male, 35 to 40 years old, 5'6" tall, medium build, wearing dark clothing.
