Police investigating suspicious death in Lents

UPDATE: Homicide victim identified


DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES - Gary Jay BaechlerPolice are investigating the suspicious death of an adult male in Lents as a homicide.

The victim is identified as Gary Jay Baechler, 48. The Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy Monday and determined he died of multiple gunshots.

There is no suspect information at this time and detectives are asking for the public's help for information in this case.

ccording to police, at 5:06 p.m. on Feb. 28, East Precinct officers responded to the residence in the 6900 block of Southeast 110th Avenue on the report of an adult male that was unconscious, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and were directed to the victim inside a home. Medical personnel confirmed that he was deceased.

Based on some preliminary observations, homicide detectives and criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division responded to conduct a death investigation, which is standard procedure for any death with suspicious circumstances.
