Man shot during disturbance in SE Portland neighborhood

Gunshot victim went to Portland Fire & Rescue's Station 31 and called for help. He was taken to a hospital but is expected to survive.

A 40-year-old man was injured Thursday night when he was shot during a disturbance in the 2100 block of Southeast 174th Avenue.

The victim's name has not been released.

Portland police said the shooting happened at about 11:38 p.m., May 18. East Precinct officers were called to the neighborhood where a disturbance and shooting happened. The gunshot victim went to Portland Fire & Rescue's Station 31 and called for help.

Paramedics and firefighters provided aid to the victim, who was taken to a Portland hospital with serious injuries. Police said he is expected to survive.

Witnesses said there was disturbance involving several people and someone fired several shots at the group, injuring the victim.
