Four hurt in plane crash in Sandy on Sunday
Four people were injured at a plane crash at the Sandy Kiwanis 60th Annual Fly-In Cruise-In Breakfast on Sunday.
The names and conditions of the victims were not immediately released. The Sandy Fire District says all transported to an area hospital. Two were taken to a trauma center with non-life threatening injuries.
According to Sandy Deputy Fire Chief Phil Schneider, the plane, carrying four people, was landing on a grass airstrip at the former McKinnon's Airpark when a witness says it off to one side and hit its wing on the ground. The plane began to cartwheel before coming to a rest.
Schneider says the plane was traveling from St. Helens and caught cross winds prior to the crash.
