Arrest made in 19-year-old homicide
Portland Police Bureau Cold Case Homicide detectives have arrested a 48-year-old man in connection with a 1995 homicide that occurred in Southeast Portland.
Danny Conner was arrested on April 22 and booked into the Multnomah County Jail on two counts of Murder.
The investigation started at approximately 7:20 a.m. on December 20, 1995, when Darrin Ezell, 24, was killed while sleeping inside his home, located in the 9300 block of Southeast Ramona Street. Two children were in the home at the time of the homicide but were not harmed.
Police are releasing few details about the case at this time because it is still an active investigation.
The Cold Case Homicide Unit reviews unsolved murders in the Portland area. Since its inception in 2004, has reviewed approximately 250 homicide cases and solved more than 40.
The unit is comprised of a Sergeant and three Detectives who are assisted by several retired investigators who volunteer their time to assist in solving cases. It has a close partnership with the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office and the Oregon State Police Crime Lab.
The Portland Police Bureau Cold Case Homicide Unit's slogan is: "We don't give up. We never give up."
