Hit and run leaves pedestrian with traumatic injuries
A pedestrian was the victim of a hit-and-run incident in southeast Portland on Thursday evening.
When Central Precinct officers arrived at SE 31st Avenue and Powell Boulevard shortly after 9 p.m. on Jan. 9, they found Max Martin, 22, had been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Martin was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Thus far, the investigation has revealed that the pedestrian was crossing Powell Boulevard at 31st Avenue, in a crosswalk, from the south side to the North side of the street. As he crossed into the westbound lanes, a westbound car in the left lane stopped for him as he crossed but a different westbound car did not and struck him in the crosswalk.
The suspect vehicle is described as a white or silver vehicle, last seen driving away from the scene westbound on Powell Boulevard.
Anyone with information about this hit and run crash is asked to call the police non-emergency line at (503) 823-3333.
