One dead, two wounded in nightclub riot
A 30-year-old man was killed and two others wounded during a riot and shooting outside a Northeast Portland nightclub overnight.
The victim is identified as Durieul Joseph Harris. The Oregon State Medical Examiner performed an autopsy Sunday morning and determined that Harris died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The two people injured in the shooting have been identified as Fredrick Glenn Conner, 44, and Shelia Renee Shelby, 50. Both are recovering from gunshot wounds at a Portland hospital.
North Precinct officers and agents from the Oregon Liquor Control Commission have served an indefinite "Emergency Liquor License Suspension" on the nightclub, identified as the Fontaine Bleau at 237 N.E. Broadway.
No arrests were immediately made and no motive has been released.
According to police, at 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, North Precinct and Gang Enforcement Team officers responded to the report of a large fight and riot outside the Fontaine Bleau nightclub. Officers arrived to find a crowd of 75 to 100 people involved in a disturbance and one man shot.
Additional officers responded along with medical personnel as people scattered the area on foot and in vehicles. Two more gunshot victims, a male and female, were also located.
One of the male gunshot victims, later identified as Harris, died at the scene. The other victims were transported to a Portland hospital for treatment with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Homicide and Gang Enforcement Team were called to the scene in the initial stages of an investigation.
