King City council adopts 2013-14 budget

There are $5.09 million in total appropriations


The King City City Council on June 5 voted 5 to 0 to adopt the city's 2013-14 budget with $5.09 million in total appropriations.

The general fund budget is $2.1 million, with the following expenditures: $27,760 for the City Council, $849,528 for administration, $744,941 for police, and $515,524 for general services.

The street fund totals $565,900, with $125,720 for material and services, $200,000 for capital outlay, $43,429 for transfers, and a $197,751 contingency fund.

Other appropriations include: total park system development charges - $444,800, total transportation development tax - $1.7 million, and a local option levy - $175,000.

The city has a permanent tax rate of $1.5261 per $1,000 of assessed valuation, plus voters in November 2009 approved a five-year local option levy of $.55 per $1,000 of assessed valuation for police services that generates $175,000.
