Eldorado Villas resident plows through two homes

by: COURTESY OF TUALATIN VALLEY FIRE & RESCUE - NOT THE GARAGE DOOR - After smashing through one home in Eldorado Villas, Jack O'Rourke''s vehicle continued into a second hime, barely missing the resident.A 93-year-old driver crashed into two homes on Eldorado Drive in Eldorado Villas on Saturday, Oct. 12, and at 12:03 p.m., and Washington County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a crash.

When deputies arrived, they learned that the driver, Jack O'Rourke, was backing his 2012 Chevy Malibu out of his driveway when his shoe got wedged on the gas pedal, and he accelerated into the two mobile homes.

The first was vacant, and the second had one occupant who just missed getting hit while sitting in a chair as O'Rourke's vehicle traveled through the vacant mobile home and came to rest in the occupied mobile home.

Each of the homes sustained substantial damage.

Deputies determined driver impairment was not a factor.
