Be prepared for a crisis
It's your friendly CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) team leader here, wondering how many of you found it hard to get any bottled water during the E-coli scare a few weeks ago?
This should serve as a great wake-up call to all of us. Within just a few hours, there was not a bottle of water to be found in any of our stores in the King City area.
The Dollar Store had its warehouse deliver every case available, which amounted to 100 cases.
Between the first call, around 1 p.m., and 5 p.m., the store was sold out.
This is a perfect example of being self-sustaining in the event of an emergency.
The general rule is to have one gallon of water per person per day, for at least five days.
So please take a little time out right now to get some extra water on hand.
And while you are doing that, don't forget your pets. They get thirsty also.
