To the Editor:
All public entities are facing challenges these days. It is important that we participate in choosing the people who will make important decisions affecting us.
Even though most of us no longer have children in the local public school system, we need to be concerned about the education of our local kids and the condition of their school buildings and equipment.
For this reason I encourage the citizens of King City to consider voting for Dana Terhune for her second term on the Tigard-Tualatin School Board. I've known Dana and her family since she was in high school and know her to be fair-minded, hard-working and goal-oriented.
Her two children have attended Tigard-Tualatin schools since they were in primary school, and Dana has always been active in their school activities.
As the only board member from Tualatin, Dana has proven herself able to represent the concerns of the entire Tigard-Tualatin community, not just those of her city. She currently serves as vice chairman of the board.
Dana has gained valuable experience during her first term on the board, understands the district's complexities and recognizes the need for establishing financial priorities during these difficult times.
I encourage everyone in King City to vote in the upcoming local election and recommend a vote for Dana Terhune for Tigard-Tualatin School Board.
