Caring Closet director thanks folks for their generosity

To the Editor:

The Caring Closet has appreciated all of the local support and generosity given us this year.

We would like to thank all the volunteers who have contributed their time, talents, money and clothing/hygiene items.

School clubs, Scout projects, church fundraising and cleaning assistance have helped us greatly.

Community organizations and businesses have donated man hours, maintenance, grants and monetary donations.

Individuals have coordinated our pop can drives and Stuff the Bus, which provided clothing, new shoes, sleepwear and other items necessary to assist our needy children.

Your involvement has enabled us to provide for 1,400 youngsters who now feel better about themselves as they attend school.

In lieu of Christmas and birthday presents, a number of adults and children have donated clothing, hygiene items and money to the Closet.

Their selfless giving has made a lasting impression on us all.

The Caring Closet is closed for the summer. We will reopen for the 2013-14 school year Sept. 4. At that time, we will accept donations of new and gently used items.

Parents of students needing assistance from the Caring Closet are encouraged to call their school staff for a referral to the Closet.
