Broadway Rose production of 'Little Shop of Horrors' runs through Oct. 21
The Broadway Rose Theatre Company presents a doo-wop spoof of 1950s' sci-fi disaster movies with "Little Shop of Horrors" at the Broadway Rose New Stage Sept. 20 through Oct. 14.
"Little Shop of Horrors" follows the misadventures of Seymour, a down-and-out floral assistant who longs to get the girl of his dreams and escape life on skid row. He becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood.
Soon "Audrey II" grows into an ill-tempered, R&B-singing carnivore who offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite, finally revealing itself to be an alien creature poised for global domination!
Laced with dark humor and irresistible music, "Little Shop of Horrors" is one of off-Broadways longest-running shows.
The Broadway Rose production stars Bobby Ryan as nerdy Seymour Krelborn; Rebecca Teran as Audrey, the object of his affection; Brian Demar Jones as her sadistic dentist boyfriend; Darren Hurley as floral shop owner Mr. Mushnick; and Jerrod Neal as the voice of the plant.
Evening performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.; matinees are at 2 p.m. on Sundays, and on the following Saturdays, Sept. 29, and Oct. 6 and 11.
The New Stage is located at 12850 S.W. Grant Ave. in Tigard.
Tickets start at $30 for adults, with discounts available for groups and youth. For a full listing of show performances or to order tickets, visit www.broadwayrose.org or call the box office at 503-620-5262.
