Wet pavement and late brakes leads to 3-car rear-ender

by: ERIC NORBERG - Just before 6:30 am on Tuesday, October 30th, southbound traffic on S.E. McLoughlin Boulevard came to a halt at the Harold Street stoplight – and the wail of police, fire, and ambulance sirens followed. In the rain, a car had stopped for the stoplight, and two other cars piled into it. One injury was reported, but few details are available. Two of the cars in the rear-ender are shown here in front of the police car – the car that stopped for the light was propelled across the intersection, and was stopped just south of Harold. Police remind that wet streets are slippery, and that the law requires vehicles to stop if they can when the light is yellow.
