Ceremony reopens Bluff Trail

by: PHOTO COURTESY OF MIKE HOUCK - Bluff Trail ReopensThe picturesque Oaks Bottom Bluff Trail, closed for months for rehabilitation and improvement as THE BEE has been reporting, reopened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on a sunny March 9th, a Saturday – with Portland Mayor Charlie Hales wielding the scissors. Afterward, Portland Parks employee and Sellwood resident Mark Wilson (here, pointing) led attendees on an exploration of the wilderness which makes trail hikers feel that, although Westmoreland is directly overhead beyond the bluff, they are actually many miles away from the “big city”.
