by: RITA A. LEONARD - REED CORNERTwo large cedar trees and an old retaining wall have been removed from the Reed College grounds at the corner of S.E. 28th Avenue and Woodstock Boulevard. Reed Public Information Officer Kevin Meyers explained, “We’re creating some new landscaping, and new ADA-friendly pedestrian access to our new Performing Arts Building. That area has long needed some improvement, and the cedars weren’t doing too well anyway,” he remarked. “As an added benefit, it improves traffic visibility at the intersection.”
