PDX Liquidators reopens on Powell Blvd

by: RITA A. LEONARD - PDX Liquidators, the self-described Almost Everything store, has moved north from the Holgate area and has reopened at 3454 S.E. Powell Boulevard. After searching for another suitable site, the business finally re-opened in June at 3454 S.E. Powell Boulevard, right next to De Nicola’s Italian Restaurant. “There’s more parking here; we’re easier to see; and we have the same great stuff,” remarks Store Manager Jody Meskel.

“We’re open every day from 10 am to 8 pm, and we have just about everything you might need. Our special sale days are: Mondays – 10% off for Veterans; and Wednesdays – 10% off for seniors. We don’t carry furniture as we used to, but we still sell small carpets, kitchen and handyman tools, and general necessities for everyday living.”

Indeed, the store carries everything from greeting cards and extension cords to tarps and pet supplies. There are two aisles of canned and packaged groceries, fresh ground coffee, and a cooler full of milk, pop, and sports drinks. Personal care items, light bulbs, toys, and bread add to the mix, while used books are four for a dollar, and a variety of T-shirts are displayed at discount prices.

“Many of our shoppers are repeat customers who are glad to see us back,” says Meskel. “We usually bring in three or four truckloads of new products every week, and we currently have a 75%-off sale on arts and crafts items. Eventually we’ll be accepting food stamps. “Come in to browse or pick up a snack, or call us at 503/206-8139. You’ll be surprised what you can find here.”
