Oregon Aero will show off its brand new 20,000-square-foot hangar this week during a groundbreaking celebration at the Scappoose Industrial Airpark.
The aviation industry manufacturer has projected expanding its company for years.
Its new hangar will house its operations for developing and manufacturing what the company refers to as advanced aviation seating systems and aircraft interior services.
The $1.5 million expansion project was financed through assistance from the State of Oregon and the Port of St. Helens.
Oregon Aero currently employes 75, but said its growth could create the opportunity to hire more workers in the future.
Contractor JH Kelly expects to complete the project by late February 2013.
The company is leasing the hangar from the Port of St. Helens.
A groundbreaking celebration is scheduled to take place Friday, Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. at 34020 Skyway Drive by the airport.
Representatives from state, county and local governments, Oregon Aero, the Port and JH Kelly will be in attendance.
