Port ready to dig into airport master plan update
Kick-off meeting planned Wednesday, March 20, at Scappoose City Hall
The Port of St. Helens on Wednesday, March 20, is holding a kick-off meeting on a project aimed at updating the public agencys 2004 master plan for Scappoose Industrial Airpark.
The update to the nine-year-old master plan is expected to reflect new facilities, current airport activity projections, environmental and regulatory constraints and planning for a mix of land uses to support aviation and non-aviation needs.
The new plan, when completed, is also expected to address the airport's long-term financial health, according to a Port of St. Helens press release received Monday, March 18.
The updated Master Plan will help the Port of St. Helens determine needed airside and landside improvements based on updated forecasts of demand for aviation services, the press release states.
The public is welcome to attend the kick-off meeting, which will be held at Scappoose City Hall, 33568 E. Columbia Ave., from 6-7:30 p.m.
Interested people have been asked to check out the Ports website at www.portsh.org to review the meeting agenda.
