Tami McDonald, counselor with Grant Watts Elementary, said most students at the school have the option to either do a toy exchange between their peers or to each donate a toy to the drive. Most of the school's students, McDonald said, choose to give to Scappoose's families in need during the holidays. 'This year we were cut a little short with snow days, but our kids rallied,' she said. The school also participates in an annual toy drive. This year, students raised 733 food items, surpassing their goal by 233.
