St. Helens police find body in dumpster
No foul play suspected in incident
A St. Helens man was found dead in a dumpster behind the Walgreens pharmacy store at 175 South Columbia River Hwy. Monday morning, police said.
According to the St. Helens Police Department, officers responded to reports of a dead body in the dumpster just after 8 a.m. Police said a man identified as Ryan Donald Neveau, 26, appeared to have become trapped under the bin's heavy metal lid and suffocated to death.
While the investigation leaves questions regarding Mr. Neveaus intentions, the investigators are not suspicious about the manner in which he died, the Monday, Jan. 13, release concluded.
Neveau had a history with St. Helens police, having been arrested twice last month on accusations of theft and forgery, including on Dec. 13 following an incident at Walgreens, according to a police log shared with the Spotlight.
